EMS

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an essential component of a comprehensive traffic safety system, and is the last of the Four E’s (Engineering, Education, Enforcement, and EMS).  When an injury occurs as a result of a motor vehicle crash, EMS is the best “last chance” to reduce death and permanent injury.  The Transportation Improvement Association (TIA) continues to involve EMS representatives in the traffic safety process, primarily through public education initiatives.  Furthermore, the Chief Executive Officer of Medstar Ambulance serves on the TIA Board of Directors, and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals serves as a Trustee.  Both officials strongly support TIA’s mission and help keep the traffic safety community informed.
